Are the End Times Near? How Artificial Intelligence Could Intersect With Antichrist, Prophecy

End times author Jeff Kinley recently told CBN's Faithwire much about the impact of artificial intelligence "remains to be seen," though he detailed some potential cautions. "One of the biggest concerns is that it replaces human intelligence," Kinley said. "We are moving, as a society, towards replacing humanity in just about every way possible — replacing human labor, human thought, human writing, trying to pretty much put humanity to the margins of the narrative here."

He continued, "But the thing about AI that's so frightening or potentially frightening is that there's talk of this bioengineering, these nanorobots implanting within humanity." The eschatological expert said the idea people would essentially have an interface or be intermingled with technology in such a way is deeply troubling, particularly when it comes to surveillance and misuse.

"The biggest concern about that is that humans will now, according to those experts in the field ... be hackable," Kinley said. "They'll be able to read our emotions."

But one of the broader issues he addressed is deception and the reality that, no matter how well-programmed AI might be, it's "not human intelligence." With people controlling these technologies, there's a great deal of room for sweeping biases to take root. "There's obviously the capacity for a lot of bias in there, prescripted, inherent bias," Kinley said. "But also just the idea of putting out a false narrative and someone says, 'Hey, AI must know more than me, so I'm gonna trust the AI more than the people who could be called conspiracy theorists.'"

The author was cautious to speculate too in-depth on the prophecy front, as he reiterated the difficulties in knowing how the technology and certain scenarios might unfold, but he discussed his belief the Bible prophesies the antichrist will eventually rise. "There'll be a global regime, and obviously they want to be able to trace, to track not just your economic transactions, but also you as well," Kinley said. "So, there could be some control issues as it relates to that."

Jesus referred to ending times as "birth pains." As a woman that brings to mind that they start easy with greater time between contractions and grow stronger in intensity and quicker between each episode. That is what I see. Things are happening so quickly and are greater in intensity. Technology is advancing at such an alarming rate as are disasters and all the elements of the end times mentioned. I just keep looking up for my redemption draweth nigh!

What Jeff mentioned about conversation is so true. I haven't had a REAL more-than-3-minute conversation with someone in, I don't know, decades? Before technology, I used to have long drawn out wonderful conversations with friends at tea and coffee shops, even bars, about everything from God to the future, to what was happening currently in our lives, etc. But more and more I'm finding that real conversations are falling by the wayside, as well as language in general. Words, jargon, and slang are falling away, anyone under 40 doesn't know what I'm talking about when I make a joke about say, the Roadrunner ("beep beep!") or things of a similar nature. Regional colloquialisms are also going away; you just get a blank stare from the younger generations when some phrases are used. Technology is making our once vibrant language into nothing more than silly emojis!
