You're the only instructor I know that shows in detail what you're doing and NOT blocking that detail with your fingers when tying knots. It's amazing to me how many people on YT don't critique their own videos. Details matter. Anyway, kudos for that.

Simplicity like this in a tarp setup is great! 100% don't get the other channels' fascination with over-complicating this process. Thanks for keeping it real!

I like it when Corp takes us back to the old school topics like the earlier videos!

Shawn- I taught my 6 year-old grandson how to do this, and he loved it. We went on to set up all sorts of other configurations around the yard, and his older sister loved it too. The best part: the next time he visited, I was talking to him about making a tarp shelter using sticks, he said “ Papa, I think you mean toggles.”

Thanks for all your videos. I enjoy them tremendously!
I'm a 68 year old boyscout. I use a variation of your trucker's hitch all the time. And I use toggles extensively! I do enjoy camping and camping comfortably... and on the cheap!
Thanks, again!

KISS...Keep It Simple Stupid! That was drilled into me back in 1979, during basic training, and remains with me all my life. This method you just showed, most certainly does "Keep It Simple Stupid". No need to make a simple job complicated or time consuming. Great video, Cheers from Winnipeg.

The number of projects you have completed with that handful of knots, hitches, and loops. Is simply outstanding.

Great explanation and visuals of how to tie an improvised truckers hitch for those of us who are knot challenged. Thanks.

A grommet is just a hole waiting to become a rip. This toggle method treats the fabric with the respect it deserves.

Ive never ever left 1 comment on you tube and don't plan to after this. But the way you just demonstrated and eloquently said to everyone out there "Really... How bout we keep it simple stupid" just made me smile!

Keeping your ridgeline & your toggles connected to the tarp or rolled inside during transport will help ensure you always have them ready to deploy. Half inch pvc tubing cut into small sections with a hole for a small lanyard loop will keep toggles together with a light duty caribeaner. Thanks Corporal. OAF.

I got a couple of hobby vise, and a couple pieces of dowling attached each end of my desk indoors with a length of paracord to make it easy to regularly drill my knots, works for me and maintains my memory of them
