Your suppliers will raise prices too. They source from China+reduced competition+global inflation.

Not a good analysis ....a recession means more USA shoppers have less buying power esp without jobs...POD biggest market is USA esp wiht excess income

The problem for us Americans is that our economy will tank and fewer people are going to be willing to pay $20.00 for a mug when they can barely afford to keep their utilities on.

Presenting a topic in a "friendly light" doesnt mean anything. The truth is the truth. Bottom line, prices will go up. People wont like it. Your business will suffer. The end.

Trump wants to be unpredictable. Think about it. Does anyone really know what he's going to do next?

Too good to be true. Overly optimistic video

Anything that increases the cost of low-quality items from Temu and the like, including drop shippers in the US—the primary market for print-on-demand—is beneficial. Sellers of these cheap products could now face large tariffs, which will force them to significantly raise prices or risk losing any profit they currently make. While purchasing inexpensive, subpar items may seem acceptable at low cost, consumers will eventually recognize that these products lack value at a much higher price. So when the price difference between such items and a well-designed, unique shirt is only a few dollars, buyers are may well choose the latter—the unique item they cannot find anywhere else. That said, it’s well known Temu constantly steal designs from POD designers and elsewhere, but these tariffs could effectively level the playing field between print-on-demand sellers and drop shippers.

I was extremely nervous because most of my products sourced from Chinese suppliers are not currently offered by any USA-based company. I later found a Vietnam-based company that can handle my orders. Then Trump announced that he's going to charge 46% tariffs on Vietnam. He really got my head spinning.

I was just wondering this and I'm glad you addressed it.

Since US companies are now allowed to sell on Temu, POD may be competitive now thanks to the high tariff on Chinese goods

I really, really can't see how this is going to help American business's.
Yes there will be a few companies that can survive this crisis, but
there are a lot of companies that simply won't. I don't think Trump has
taken the time to see the total fallout from these tariffs and how it
will effect most companies, I fear the worse, I fear a lot of U.S.
business's collapsing from these tariffs. If what you are saying is
true for most POD sellers, good, but I don't think anyone can really
predict the full outcome of all of these tariffs.

This is encouraging during a time of dread. Thanks for that. But what in more concerned about is that because so many everyday items are going to get more expensive and so many people likely laid off, people will be tightening their belts and deciding that more t-shirts and the like are an unnecessary expense and stop buying altogether. Hopefully that’s not the case.

Good on you Shimmy. I was thinking along similar lines...that we could work this to our benefit, so thankyou for your words! :-) Good point about the pivoting ability - so true. Interesting times we live in. Thankyou for your video.

I am a little concerned because most of my POD products come from the US and I understand that many people from other countries want to boicot US businesses so that means I have to relay mainly on the US customers. Even though most of my customers come from US there is a decent number from EU also. So I don't really know what to do. Should I find other suppliers from other countries besides my current suppliers?

I'm using Monster Digital. Printify seems to be showing the same prices for now?

Hi Shimmy, do you know what happens if I ship from AOP plus in London to the USA? How does the 10% get collected? I can’t seem to find the info. I sell on Etsy and starting Shopify

Hey Shimmy. Just a thought too please - when you say the printify products are MADE in, not printed, from Honduras, do you mean ALL of their products world wide are made here? And then shipped to specific POD companies in different countries for printing?
I know Ive chosen some products that are printed in Australia, for Australian customers, but are they made originally in Honduras too, for example?? Many 🙏🙏 thanks in advance.

Some good points! I have a question though. So you’re based in the UK, that’s also your Shopify store location. I know you sell in the USA, using US suppliers, but isn’t it still considered import, given your physical location, regardless of your suppliers’ location?

It sucks but it was always meant to happen even if this admin didn't do it. The extremely consumerist culture of USA, importing extremely chep products and workers compared to their national standard, is so self destructive and self consumming (pun intended) that a reset was bound to happen whenever the economy hit rock botton. I think it may even be a blessing in desguise in the long run if USA sticked to the tariffs, but I have the impression it is just a trade off so those countries lower their tariffs and go back to normal, which would have the opposite effect. Either way, everything is gonna be destabilized for some good months, so better keep your savings, get your support network active, and spend mainly in necessities and not luxuries. Back to basics.
