Growing a garden should be taught in schools. When I was young, every spring our book ordering catalogs had vegetable seeds in it.

When I visited Latvia as a teenager (20 years ago) the thing that really stuck with me was the home gardens in every single backyard.

"A restructuring of what's valuable in life.." Wise words, sir. Thank you for this!

My husband and I have felt for years that things were going to get shaky. After we adopted our 5 and decided to homeschool we turned our 1 acre into a food forest project and never looked back. 17 rabbits, 5 kiddos and plenty of food later, Praise the Lord! It’s always been His plan (or at least one of them!). From Nova Scotia

Growlife is happy living.
I'd have gone nuts without my garden in times like these

I grow tomatoes in my backyard and let me tell you that the rabbits seem to really appreciate the fruits of my hard work

Bought my first home in Saginaw. Turned half my yard into a garden. Every year I do something wrong but still turn a nice crop. I live in a food desert but you should see my pantry!

I started my victory garden this Spring. So far I haven't killed anything even though I'm a stoner. Yay me. It's actually easier than it looks and ultimately, peaceful and meditative.

It doesn't take much land to grow LOTS of food. I've seen that as I've been growing in Sub-irrigated garden beds. The boxes have large water reservoirs in the bottom. The watering demands are greatly reduced and so it's easier to tend. Works great in spots that don't have viable soil. And with so many places experiencing drought issues, it can make a huge difference!

I’m 58 years young, just started my first ever little garden in my back yard with NO IDEA what I was doing! Dozens of YouTube vids later and I absolutely LOVE it. Turns out I have a green thumb, who knew?! It’s a lovely, perfect enterprise for lonely, afraid peeps. My two sons are learning a ton also, getting out of the house and totally digging it 😉😎
Great therapeutic, amazing and even spiritual way to ground one’s self to the real world. Just do it! 🌱 🐸 🐞

I'm not growing beans this year because I still have a shit ton of canned greens from last year. I live in a capital city in the midwest and we grow everything in my small backyard. I love it.

Only 6 minutes for Joel Salatin? All that information in his brain to be picked, he could fill hours with great info everyone could benefit from. Love what this man is doing.

My Dad is growing all the veggies he needs in his backyard garden, and he is giving away surplus to neighbours, free of cost. Didnt have to step out for last 50 days.

I love Joel's outlook on sustainable agriculture. I hope he doesn't get attacked by Big Farma.

My yard is just under 2 acres. My husband was a fanatic about having the perfect lawn (but didn't use chemicals). He passed away suddenly about 18 months ago. This year we have planted a dozen fruit trees, a dozen blueberry bushes, and made a large garden. Next year will be chickens!
