He's right, dipoles work! Although I'd call this a vertical with a counterpoise earth.
Five slightly inverted vee in my attic for 20m to 10m and an outdoor 60m inverted vee squashed into a 25' x 13' garden at 20' maximum height. Electrical 1.5 mm diameter pvc covered wire but I have unwound transformers in the past from old equipment to get enamelled wire.

I love your enthusiasm and your approach to homebrew antennas. I've used some of your antennas, and they work very well. I've used old ethernet cable for ground radials on all of my vertical antenna projects. Elevated radials are also a great idea...just be sure they're high enough to avoid children, pets, and visitors. Aloha, Russ (KH6JRM).

One thing with those BNC to binding post adaptors: I've encountered a few where the red and black pieces can be removed entirely, and there is no guarantee that have been put in the correct places. So check with an ohmmeter before using them in an unbalance antenna configuration.

Great video, ❤, will build this beauty for Porta. One question, I saw you are using a kind of choke at the coax. Is it recommended and what dimensions and are there any requirements for distance to feeding point or can it be placed anywhere. Cheers Chris

You can call it an "L" antenna, but you have really built a quarter wave vertical with one radial.

Instead of 50 adapters, why not one BNC to SO-239 adapter? On Ebay, they're under $10 for a pair of them?

Another great video buddy! You can get the binding posts in both Male and Female, so depending the connectors on your coax that use, you can connect directly to the binding post without all the adapters. I generally use BNC connectors on my coax out in the field, so I have the female BNC on my binding post, so no adapters! Cheers VE1SK
