Flying in my wheelchair

Here’s how we fly with Shane’s wheelchair! It takes a lot of preparation, and then a lot of hoping that the wheelchair doesn’t get damaged during the flight!

Do you know what i love about shane? I saw this and was thinking of how painful to his pride and mind this would be. Totally dependent on his wife and family...carried like a child and put in a carseat....my pride would not be able to withstand this at all. The thought is huniliating to me... Yet, here is shane, the most confident, funny man who takes it all in stride. Im actually so impressed that i believe that shane is the strongest man ive ever known. The way you push through all this shane amazes me. Your resilience and total confidence is something i admire.

As someone who does wheelchair assistance at an airport, im always so appreciative of the passengers that help out their people who need the assistance, especially if I don't know how to best assist them. Isle chairs are honestly a struggle at times as well but it's better when the passenger can easily be transferred the way you and Shane do. Safe travels!!

PLEASE make a video about how you tape up the chair to prevent damage!! I use a wheelchair like Shane’s and I haven’t flown in a decade out of crippling fear I’ll end up stuck in a foreign place.
