You are absolutely correct. Plus I believe that there are non invasive methods like probably Psilocybin and other forms of psychedelics that you professionals should find more appropriate. Instead of mutilating one's body or changing it with hormones or bockers etc that i consider medical malpractice at this point. The reason i feel that way Jordan is not bc of the dysphoria it was bc my family left me, my friends left me and my job fired me. Other than that shit my mental health has been improving.

If a person can't see in a box that they insert their hand into... they can be convinced to feel a flame that doesn't exist.

They'll produce sweat and exhibit fearful symptoms about reinserting their hand again... ... and we'll say, "they're experiencing a dysphoria - as there's no fire in the box".

Yet, any number of people can succumb to the suggestion.

It makes sense when you think about it. If you're feeling depressed about the world and know that there's nothing you can do (they're kids after all) then why wouldn't you try to take control of the only thing you can, your own body?

I wonder if there's a parallel with domestic violence? DV perpetrators often feel powerless and so try to achieve dominance in the only area they can, the family.

If the mutilated victim in a legal action for damages needs a professional witness, the powers will have removed the professional license of the likely professional witness (JP). That testimony would be extremely damaging for the mutilators of other victims. A real snowball effect.
