JavaScript says it is NaN (not a number).. Python raises a ZeroDivisionError exception. Math says it lacks definition!

Yeah qnything divided by 0 should be NaN as well.

a/b=x exactly when a=bx. All of the examples work. But 0/0=x when 0x=0. Here x can be any number. Does it make sense for an equation to have multiple solutions? Well yes, for example x^2=4. So the value of 0/0 should be any number.

Good that Infinity and -Infinity are numbers (in JS)

It's both negative and positive ♾️ depending on the number. If u play with decimals far out u can kind of see what I'm talking about

it's 0, because it's always the exception. also, where would 1 even come from?

Dude i think 0/0 is just zero cuz once it has no value is automatically zero

Bruh if 1/0 is infinity and 1/-0 is -infinity so in the middle of infinity and -infinity is 0 so 0/0 is 0

Define your zeroes.

For x/0,
You were correct. 1/0 = Infinity, or (-1)!
-1/0 would be "-Infinity", or (-2)!
However, 0/0 = 1.

Because:
0³ / 0¹ = 0^(3-1) = 0²
&
1/0² = (-1)!²

We can say;
0^x / 0^y = 0^(x-y)
1 / 0^x = (-1)!^x

Also:
(-1)! - (-1)! = 1
Because;
(-1)! * (1 - 1) = (-1)!*0 = 0/0 = 1

Division by 0 is not infinity, its a number taht so small that we call it 0+ thats inf. And the same for netlgative numbers

dleonardo

So in other words it’s 0 because zero is not a number, it has no value.

hate to burst your bubble but infinity isn't a number either

0 doesn’t actually exist, it’s a place holder / symbol for nothingness
