Great video. I’m looking to a similar rebuild myself. It can be a little sketch buying used RCs on eBay though

Nice setup but other upgrades I’d consider are... the machined motor mount (it’s thicker for durability and with heat sink slots in it for better cooling ), the piece that the motor mount bolts to (there is an aftermarket version that’s not only in aluminum but it also has an oversized bearing in it that is much more durable than the stock mount, also get the oversized bearing adaptor too as it’s made by same company that makes that mount...), and a Tekno RC center driveshaft kit (your stock one is hollow aluminum.. which is prone to bending more, and worse splitting and even stripping the hub in the shaft itself.. the Tekno unit it’s a solid piece made from aluminum and made like a dogbone driveshaft with a pair of ears on each end, and uses a CVD like joint assembly on both ends that is beefier and more able to handle the high power and snap of torquey brushless systems..)... personally I don’t like Traxxas electronics (many say they fail right away but mine are weak and don’t last as I prefer aftermarket..), so I’d get a Savox servo (waterproof is an option), and a good power system (Castle Creations is good but you may find better... I suggest a Hobbywing system, it’s more tunable and it’s a race brand that is very well known... maybe not as known as Tekin but it is still a great choice)

Why does your stampede has steel drive shafts while mine has plastic ones? Are there parts to convert it? I dont want to pay 90$ for a pair of driveshafts (x2)

about to order m6 shafts for my Stampede in the front but have heard they pop out a lot. I have seen people run the rear out puts in the front because they are longer and suppose to hold the shafts in better is that true are they longer? I also talked to you in the Traxxas forums about running xxl GTR shocks in the front but would that extra travel make the shafts pop out even more ? thanks.

Well done, I like the Stampede VXL 4x4 platform. Very entertaining to drive on 3s lipo 😎

Great video Razor! Are you using the stock Springs for the shocks, and what weight shock oil are you running in the front and rear?
