I'm no pilot, but if I heard "Pull Up" I think it would have been prudent to pull up.

Mmmh, I will pull up if the aircraft I'm flying says "whoop whoop pull up!"

"This thing is saying 'Whoop. Whoop. Pull up! Pull up!' multiple times. I think I'll check the ILS".

Silly question here, but don't pilots and/or flight crew pay attention to ground proximity warnings and other screaming alerts blaring at them in the cockpit as they go about their business of flying the airplane? Is there some reason these strong warnings are ignored?

Screw that, it didn't say "Simon Says - Pull up" ...

LOL, they're ignoring the warnings like champs. Darwin awards all around, lads.

That second one, the Capt clearly ordered him to not pull up, not miss. Capt totally to blame. Follow the procedure and you just might live. Both were preventable. RIP

I said it before.... I'm ok with the reuploads! I've seen every episode of Star trek and Gilligan's Island 100 times and never get tires of it! 8-)

My beloved son suddenly passed away on June 9, 2024. My heart is forever shattered. He absolutely LOVED to fly, did it all the time. And so I now watch these videos in honor of him❤❤❤❤❤❤

AVIANCA Columbia Flight 11, which crashed on the 27th of November 1983 is another tragic accident involving a B747 that was similar to these two. 181 people died when the jumbo jet on approach to Madrid deviated from the approach path, and flew too close to terrain, with the pilots only reacting once it was too late.
