CTN animation eXpo 2014: Joseph Drust ZBrush 4R7 Demo

Last month Pixologic attended the 2014 CTN Animation eXpo in Burbank CA and we caught some of it on video. We'll be posting videos from the other artists that attended on our YouTube channel but as a special treat for ZBC members we want to share this here and help you get ideas going for when ZBrush 4R7 launches next month. In this demo, Pixologic artist Joseph Drust takes a closer look at some of what you can look forward to in the new ZBrush 4R7 features including:

 I'm also from North Carolina (but in Greenville).

 Zbrush has improved SO MUCH since I last played with the demo a couple years back.
Really love that there's a actual polymesh.vertex editor option.
Wish I could afford this program.

Brilliant! ZBrush always blows my mind. This release is no exception. I'm also glad to be rid of ZRemesher spirals! ;)
 The low-poly stuff (after playing with it a bit) is just incredible. I love how ZBrush keeps eating more into space occupied by Max/Maya, TopoGun and other retopo progs, etc. Keyshot looks great too....like Marmoset Toolbag 2 which plays nicely with ZBrush and with a direct bridge. This has me considering Keyshot over Marmoset, assuming they do the same thing.

And now, I must curl up in a fetal position and weep quietly to myself, as me brain re-assembles.

that low poly stuff looks incredibly useful. it seems to blow away all reason to switch to another app for low poly modeling.

absolutely amazing.  I do have a question.  On the low poly leaves with the transparency... am I asking to much for a tool that would read what's seen on the screen and actually produce a leaf shape and retain the texture?  If not that would be something I'd love to see happen in ZB.  Really looking forward to this update.  I'm still considering Key Shot but it's not high on my list.

Very nice indeed !! But where on zbrush do you get this low poly box ?? cause the cube primitive as a much higher poly count like 512. Wanna play to but cannot find how to get that damn box :( Any help is welcome

I use Maya and mostly for modeling it feels like a software developed about 300 years ago. This for the other hand looks futuristic.
