Should you buy a Honda Accord Sport 2.0? I take a look at 5 reasons to buy it, and 5 reasons not to.

For the past twelve months, I've been driving my 2019 Honda Accord Sport 2.0t 6m. This car is the same as the Honda Accord Sport 2020 version! The car is a lot of fun, but twelve months has given me an opportunity to properly evaluate it, and I've identified some things I really like about the car, and some annoyances. I'll go over 5 reasons you might want to buy the car, and possible reasons not to.

Love my 2.0t 6mt and the effortless acceleration. If you keep it at 65 mph with an occasional burst to 90 mph (to pass the slow cars and trucks) you can get over 40 mpg out of it. That's calculated.

I keep hearing about the poor shifting with the 10 speed automatic. I have not noticed any problems with my 2021. It seems like an orchestrated plan to negatively comment on Honda itself. It does seem that reporters do repeat themselves. Monkey see, monkey do. My gas milage average is high, as I do a lot of slow driving. 30 below zero driving gets down to 20 miles per gallon in city driving. It gets a lot better gas milage than my previous 2018 RA-4. This is the best car I have ever had. It is not a race car or Audi. It is a Honda. Good reliable transportation with a little zip. I will be happier than most at "Trade In Time". A lot of other cars go faster. Faster to fall apart mostly. Have you priced a dual clutch transmission? Have you checked resale values? Best to listen to Scotty Kilmer about cars. Education is always the key.

We got the 2018 2.0T with a 6speed mt last fall with 35K miles on it, It did need a new radar unit, that the dealer replaced at no extra cost, and we love it. A new radar would cost about $1K to replace so don't bump it or plow snow with it. The negatives are all the same except for the braking error. Haven't seen that one yet. The collision avoidance error is annoying and so far it reboots when you turn off the car and restart it but it's better than it not working when you really need it. It seems to have something to do with the Lane Change Assist system. It doesn't like it when you change lanes without using the directional even when you are all alone on the highway.

Good video. At an auto show a few years ago, I thoroughly test drove a Civic Type R and 2.0t 6MT Accord back to back. The Accord did feel like a detuned CTR, but in a good way. Very smooth power, more torque than you need. Even the base 1.5t is enough power. Wish they would’ve put an LSD in the 2.0t cars. And it’s a shame they ditched the manual after two model years. But also cool they even bothered in the first place.

I just bought a gently used, white 2018 1.5 Liter. Looks just like yours and it’s a manual, which I’m LOVING. #savethemanuals

For your need pad. You can can change that molding, just ask for that same molding from the dealer. However ask for one from the ExL trims. Its padded.

i think if you bought the 1.5L Turbo will fit you more especially in fuel economy.

I have a 2020 accord sport 6 speed cv2, that i bought used through Vroom with 6k miles on it in 2022 and i have added the PRL stage 2 intake, deleted the resonator and mufflers and i have had 0 issues with my car and currently have 19k plus miles on it and i have NEVER had any of these issues with my car.

Don’t know about the fuel economy. I’ve achieved an overall average of 7.5 l/100 km (31 mpg avg) and at best trips at 6.2 l/100 km. All depends on how you drive.

Your car looks so nasty on the inside.

I own a 2021 Accord Sport 2.0t with an automatic and the best mileage I've seen on a long trip is 42.7 mpg. I drive 400 miles without refueling.

It replaced the v6 accord so gas mileage isn’t supposed to be the best

Sorry but I haven't had any of the problems you mentioned. So I take this video with a grain of salt. Not that it's perfect by all means, but cost vs. Value vs. Fun, it is truly a winner and you could do much worse. I've had nothing but pleasure out of this car and only wish I had the money to modify it slightly.

Hey Matt, thanks for your review. You don’t say in what year your Accord was built (check the door jam). Earlier versions of any car tend to have a few issues which are improved as the car moves through the model years, which are 2018-2022 for this version of the Accord. I always buy mid to late in the model year run to allow for these few things to be addressed. I have a 2021, built in 2021 and so far it is excellent. Honda has had three years to address issues before they built my car and I believe they likely have done so being a competitive brand in the market place and as reflected in a popular consumer car magazine that publishes ratings based on a survey of owner’s experiences.

I have a 2014 Accord V6 with absolutely no problems. Tend to stay away from turbos.

I have a 2018 Civic 6MT, and I'm also over 6 ft. tall. I can confirm the issue with the knee irritated by the center console, even on the Civic. Mine has an obnoxious crease line where the two pieces of plastic meet, and it digs into my knee while driving. I cut a few inches of cushioning material and double-stick taped it over that area. Without that I don't think I would be able to drive it long distances, and I have a 110 mile commute every day. Otherwise It's a great car.

Flash your computer..sounds like issues are software related. The gas tank issue is a huge one. Great video
