NISSAN ELECTRIC MOTOR Manufacturing

Nissan is developing a modular "5-in-1" powertrain for e-POWER vehicles, which will include the electric motor, inverter, speed reducer, generator, and speed increaser. This modular system is expected to reduce powertrain costs by approximately 30% compared to 2019, improve vehicle driving performance and noise and vibration performance, and adopt a newly developed motor that reduces the use of heavy rare earth elements. Additionally, by sharing drive parts and control technology, both EV and e-POWER will provide an attractive driving experience unique to Nissan's electric vehicles.

Lots of interesting electric motor/generator physics here. Note at first the winding machine alternates between clockwise and CCW. Note how carefully the robotic machine places the permanent magnet ‘guts’ into the windings/armature. Any sort of taps, etc. might demagnetize the core magnets. Interesting!

Electric motors ought to be simple compared to the ICE. Less moving parts, less wear, less maintenance.

Car manufacturers need to stay in business... Somewhere in that electric car is something that should breakdown and ought to be repaired / replaced by planned obsolescence. And you can't do it yourself, and maybe not even that professional mechanic as the manufacturer will design them in that manner.

Also, be ready to pay for subscription for some of the features in your car to function.

The end game of capitalism is to ensure you are forced to keep buying or paying for service that only the manufacturer can provide.
