[Webinar] Emerging Stronger Through Talent Transformation
Показать описание
For the first Jobs-Skills Insights Webinar of 2021, we were joined by Callista Ng, Associate Director and Samir Bedi, Partner at Ernst & Young to share on how to emerge stronger through Talent Transformation. The presenters shared on how to use Strategic Workforce Planning and Job Redesign to enable talent transformation to emerge stronger post COVID-19 pandemic.
The webinar highlighted major changes to sectors most impacted by COVID-19 and the need to shift the focus to employees and talent management. This is enabled by using Strategic Workforce Planning and Job Redesign. And followed by upskilling the employees with the necessary skills as identified job analysis and redesign and technology investment by the organisations.
The key takeaways from the webinar are:
1. Strategic Workforce Planning – An agile strategic workforce planning should encompass the following factors: i) a shift from reactive planning to pro-active planning to align business strategy to talent and/or workforce strategy with a proactive view of the impact of disruptive forces; ii) changes in the sources of workforce, including a shift from office based to home-based work where technology investment and training are necessary to increase productivity; iii) employee engagement becoming dynamic as it is now conducted ‘virtually’; iv) targeted career development to address individual staff’s concern; v) review of competency management, performance management and learning to involve more stakeholders across division/department heads, line managers, human resources and etc. The outcomes of strategic workforce planning should focus on the demand (technology and business formation) and supply (human resources, planning, development and rewards management) solutions.
2. Job Redesign – Job redesign is defined as changes to the tasks or the way work is being performed in an existing job role by leveraging technology or non-technology solutions (uncoupling, unstacking or segmenting). The desirable outcomes of job redesign are empowered staff, improved productivity and performance as well as lean processes, while upskilling employees in preparation to rebound stronger post-pandemic.
