How to remove chrome trim on shifter console Mercedes Benz w211 E55 amg

It seems like the previous owner spilled some stuff onto the shift lever console area and some of the buttons aren’t working appropriately so I have to take it all apart in order to figure out what is going on.

This is by far the easiest way to remove the chrome trim around your shift lever. Anything sharp would do but it it has to be extremely thin in order to fit below the chrome trim and shift console.

I tried a business card and that was too thick and I didn’t have any flat head screwdriver that was thin enough so a pack of a soy sauce it was. Did the trick.
