I'm having trouble getting headers and footers removed from a word doc I am working on in OneDrive. I select remove all headers and footers, but nothing happens. Have closed and removed the doc and they are still there.

This does not remove ALL the headers in the document! It removes only the header on the current section.

To lessen the size of the headers/footers themselves you can adjust the area size on the left ruler guideline after double clicking the header/footer itself. I was almost losing my sanity trying to work out how to reclaim this space until I just noticed the adjustable margins for them!

How do I remove footers or stubborn space on the bottom of every page in 2011? Whenever I try to backspace on a hanging part of the sentence on the next page, it deletes the word on the previous page which is definitely 3 inches above the bottom, which I’m trying to use.
