Badlands 'Hard Driver' Drum Cover - Trey B

A ways back, I covered a track from this #Badlands album and wanted to try another one. I'm a rather big #JakeELee enthusiast. To this day, I think the dude is a phenomenal creator of melody but his timing is next level in terms of rock guitarists. Then, when you throw in #EricSinger - I'll always think that pairing was straight money in terms of blues based rock and roll. Years after they released this album and YEARS before YouTube, people found ways to get pro shot bootleg footage. My dear friend Huston Barger, Jr was SO plugged into that scene at the time. Somewhere around 1994 (I'm guessing), he dubbed me two VHS tapes of Eric Singer. The first was with Paul Stanley's solo band in Connecticut and the second was with Badlands in Moutainview California at the Shoreline Amphitheater. After Huston gave me those tapes, I devoured them both but really was drawn to the Badlands performance. By that point in time, I was juggling influences of Tommy Lee, Vinny Paul, Randy Castillo, Sean Kinney and just starting to appreciate the eras that influenced all of them. Now, back to just good ol' everyday rock drumming - I find this song MASSIVELY interesting to this day. I went with double bass because that's how I learned it but the BPM is around 90 bpm. A fair number of current cats I watch on here could do this with a single pedal (not me 🤣🤣). BUT - if you were to try this and use both feet, to me it's interesting simply because it's a very deliberate pace. While the tempo is volatile in the sense that this was created before things were put to a grid or polished into oblivion, it stays relatively steady. I have always had a natural tendency to want to rush it so from that standpoint, it's really neat to sit down with the awareness of that. Anyways, I hope you all are great and have a great weekend ahead! Thanks so, SO much for watching. It means the absolute world to me to have an outlet to perform. Again (if you read all this), sorry for blabbing on and on.
Good LORD I don't need to put anything else so I'll copy and paste one social media link. How about that HAHAHA!!!
