I just returned from New York, the tipping culture is way too extreme. You are almost forced to pay tipps on every restaurant, takeaway and taxi ride. They even come back to you if you do not pay tipps, and it’s getting even worse, they give you a choice of choosing how much money you should pay as tipp( 15%, 20%, 30% or more from your purchase bill. 100$ minimum 15$ extra tips. Crazy culture

I noticed that the accident this guy is not American tipping in this country is the way that waitresses make an awful lot of money because a good way to should get paid well shouldn't be so cheap or eat at McDonald's

It's riddiculous. The bosses are the cheapo's. A custumer pays enough for the overpriced food already.
Don't make this stuff the custumers problem. We don't have to pay YOUR RENT OR YOUR EMPLOYEES as well.

Most food service positions in usa pay employees under minimum wage and then the gov appointed irs takes taxes too based on suppoesed tips..

This is crazy and inappropriate, but servers make tips because 1, even if im paid good hourly wage, if the resturant isnt busy I could only be working 3 hours that day because servers will be cut because there honestly isnt aa much money in the restaurant business as y'all think and if a restaurant isnt busy that day they can not pay to have full staff on. 2, If you werent tipping your servers they have no incentive at all to do more than bare minimum service, no above and beyond, no chippy attitude, no fuck to give. 3, i work at a local restaurant, my employer is very ethical, we have benefits. The restaurant is fairly popular and busy, and it is still a money pit, we hardly make any profit. 4, if you think that tipping makes your meal more expensive imagine the cost of your dinner having to reflect paying an entire staff 25+ an hour 8 days a week.

Yo bro, tipping your server has been in place in sit down restaurants in the US since 1840's and it only an issue for the unfair cheapskate customers. Most but not all of these people were born since 2000. The only problem is how tipping has proliferated to every imaginable sector or service not earning below minimum wage. Ok, bring the hate,
