I loved my stay in Phnom Penh when I was there. The people were very friendly, most of the people speak English and it felt safe. I really want to go back for a holiday.

I think it's fairly safe... the taxi drivers are very friendly.. any city has its problems..

I'm a female who is pretty careful and commonsensical in terms of safety. After some research and news scans, I'm feeling a little nervous in going. I'm contemplating cancelling my solo trip this coming November and just taking the loss since the flights were non-refundable. : ( Don't know what to do.

It is safe, but you have to watch out for yourself. i decided (unwisely) to walk back to my hotel ( only two blocks). I encountered two Chinese nationals who insisted that I owed them 1200 baht. I had to call a friend at a casino to come over and pay them, since I did not have the money. Best to take a taxi back to your hotel, even if it is in walking distance.
