Making your own vanilla syrup is easy and tastes significantly better than store bought stuff.

For those who prefer a text based recipe :)
Ingredients
1 cup Turbinado sugar
1 cup water
1 vanilla bean pod (or 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste)
Pinch of salt

Instructions
Prepare the Vanilla Bean:
- Slice the vanilla bean pod in half lengthwise.
Butterfly each half and scrape out the seeds.

Combine Ingredients:
- In a medium-sized pot, combine the water, turbinado sugar, vanilla bean seeds (or vanilla bean paste), and a pinch of salt.

Simmer:
- Bring the mixture to a light simmer over medium heat.
Continue to simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cool and Store:
- Remove the pot from heat and allow the syrup to cool completely.
Once cooled, funnel the syrup into a jar or syrup bottle for storage.

Enjoy your homemade vanilla bean syrup in coffee, desserts, or any recipe that calls for a touch of sweetness and vanilla flavor.

What kind of sugar did you used? Is it more like brown sugar? Because I see the color of it and it looks like brown sugar.

Instead of turbinado sugar, wouldn't jaggery/panela be better?

Turbinado looks a lot like brown sugar. Except it is lighter. So I am wondering if they are similar?

Love longer videos for us folks that have a longer attention span 😂 ❤

pro tip: changing the sugar to water ratio to 2:1 increases the shelf life for longer, of course the syrup will be sweeter so adjust to taste

Hi Ethan! Big fan of your content! Wondering if you could also (hopefully 🤞🏽) consider making a video on how to make French vanilla syrup? I’ve been obsessed with the Monin French vanilla syrup but I would like to make my own :)
Thank you!!!
