In this video, I'll show you the fastest guaranteed way to get an S class freighter, this works for both sentinel and venator class freighters and will not fail. All you have to do is get some units, 175,000,000 will do and some starship fuel, and keep flying from 3 star economy to 3 star economy until you find a freighter battle, you must first have played for at least 3 hours and made 5 warp jumps excluding black holes. once you've found a freighter battle, with the freighter you want, make a save and keep destroying the prates until you get the S class, its that easy!

If anybody recent watching this please be aware that the save method when finding your desired ship and docking the station before the fight was patched! It does not work anymore. You need to save in a previous star system and keep warping to the system you found your capital ship. You will lose the ship! It’s been patched and I learned it the hardway 😢

Instead of going all the way to the bridge to talk to the captain just scan the inside of the freighter hangar it'll give you the ships info

The game would be so much easier to start again if it was automatic s class ship after an elite battle to defend capital ship after 50 jumps

Another thing you can do is warping to Another Sytem using the freighter and a lot of Times when I do this a bunch of Fleets will appear randomly And I go from Fleet to Fleet adding frigates to my Fleet and investigating the capital ship of said Fleet but its kind of tedious but you usually will get a huge amount of ships appear randomly

Can confirm this strategy works. Not only did it work, but it did in fact cancel out the space battle so I didn’t have to do it, and I was able to just reload on the station in the system until I got my S class for my first freighter. Resurgent Venator, S class in red and black. Took about 12-15 reloads to get S. The hardest part was probably just finding the exact capital I was looking for, getting it to load as an S wasn’t all that bad once I got this strategy figured out. Also, yes I got a couple of A class ones and the stats are so similar to S that if you’re really having trouble getting an S, just settle for A, unless you’re like me and determined to get that S.
Keep in mind, the first time I tried this strategy and saved on the station where the battle was happening, the entire thing just despawned on me, the battle and the freighter itself just disappeared and forced me to restart the 3 hour CD timer and also had to look for my Resurgent Venator again, which for me was the most difficult part because I was only searching 3 star systems in order to maximize my chances of S class.

Do NOT RUN UP TO THE CAPTAIN! On freighter as soon as you are outside your ship. Scan the floor or wall of freighter and it will give you all its class details. If not S class then reload last auto save immediately. Do NOT give up. I have a new save running, went for S class and did 60 reloads. - Nothing!! Today i carried on and got S after 2 loads ( 62 in total with yesterday) if i had ran to the Captain everytime i would still be on about load 40.

Doing the 2nd part of this to change the "Class" of the ship doesn't seem to work now. If you find a freighter pirate fight and get too far away and dock with station, you come back out and it's gone....

This doesn't work anymore. When I ignored the pirates and landed on the station, then went to the freighter again, there was no battle anymore. When I reloaded the save, the battle was on, but when I won, I got immediately rewarded and no invitation for free freighter. When I reloaded the restore point (from the station) and got to the freighter, it didn't have any fight.
Looks like they patched it and now restoring from the station doesn't work anymore, and I have to reload the save from the starting system, and then I may not get a freighter attack situation at all. So basically, this killed all the tricks and infinite reloading to get the freighter you want.

What slows it down alot is the fact that for some reason the pilots fly through the Large Venator for me LOL

This method does not work any longer. Apparently they patched it several months ago and you will lose the capitol ship if you save at the space the station. Well, you _can_ save there, fly out and inspect its class, but if it's not the class you want and you reload that save....it'll be gone. So save on the 4th jump before jumping to a tier 3 star system on the 5th, then reload that one if you don't get the ship you desire.

Weird I played more than 3 hours visiting far more than 3 systems and looked at many space stations and also looked into the settings to see anything wrong but all seemed okay but no matter what I do not even a single freighter would show up just some system freighter instead

Here after trying to get to the core last night. Took me hours just to cover 200, 000 ly so hopefully I can get a better hyperdrive range on an s class
