Paulson acquired the property nearly a year into the pandemic, transforming the quaint but generic surf shack into a tailor-made retreat with the elegantly understated housewares of Nickey Kehoe. “The ocean never called to me. I’m the person who’s afraid there’s a shark in my bathtub.” says Paulson, star of the upcoming horror film _Dust_ . "But the beach was stunning. How did I live here for so many years and not understand the beauty of the coastline?”

What feels like three lifetimes ago, Sarah and I were both students at LaGuardia High School of the arts on the upper West side of New York City. She was, of course, a drama major, I was a vocal major. We had a few classes together as I recall. It was such a big high school, Sarah was a friend. Always had a really good soul. A fine person. And obviously she was a gifted actress, even back then. I always recall that we both skipped the disgusting lunch and would spend time in the library. I’m so happy for all her success. And the thought that she initially moved there because of how happy her dog was to be walking on the beach is so sweet.

did not expect a beachside malibu home from her at all. but as she explained each room and it’s function it definitely coincides with her personality and even her “at home” way she’s dressed. I’ve definitely seen interviews of her but she’s always just a bit more polished or poised. this seems so relaxing of a place and calming, definitely matching the way she speaks and flows thru her home. loved it
