The stand can be turned over and used for cups. The Amazon listing has 4 pictures of the different ways the stand can be configured.

I just got one of these too. I did flip the stand over and that would work well for a small pot. However, a lot of the flame in the wind will end up heating the stand rather than coming through the hole. I saw another guy who drilled some good sized holes in the stand all the way around the hole to allow the flame to come through. I think that is the fix I will go with as well. This seems like the best idea as it would lighten it up a tad, not weaken it, and keep you from having to use another piece of equipment. Check the reviews for the stove on amazon and you will see pictures of his modification.

Not a bad little cooking stove, but if all your trying to do is boil a cup of water you should build a soda can stove. There are plenty of videos on how to do it, and it's a fun little project. Great video, God bless.

I just bought the Alocs brand with stand. Haven't tried it out yet. Need to make me a du hickey for setting my stanley cook pot on it. Great idea.

Sir, the stand can flip over and the flame will go through the center hole for using small cups
