Sissel - If You Go Away - The song is an adaptation of the 1959 Jacques Brel song, "Ne me quitte pas", with English lyrics by Rod McKuen. I have seen a video of Brel performing it, and his emotions are so intense that he is covered with sweat. His performance is rather "dark", and it is mentioned that the song is in the spirit of him debasing himself to the woman he loves, telling her, "I will do ANYTHING' if you stay - PLEASE STAY" !!

Sissel sings the English lyrics with a much more upbeat and hopeful rendering.

Both the singing and the video itself are all of the testimonial that is needed to attest to the fact that Sissel - like a fine wine, brandy or Champaign - becomes mellower, more precious and more refined as she matures.
