what i love about drumming is the part where you play the beat, and you have no problem with playing it, than you try to apply some feel to it, and return to rhytm after it - and suddenly you need a fucking compass hahaahah

OK - found a few more. Theme for Mission Impossible is one. Lots of 'em out there I guess I just wasn't counting when I heard those songs! NPR site has an article about playing 5/4 with some interesting info, as well as audio for complete songs in 5/4 if anyone is curious.

@rjdrums26 it is to some people, others like the look of their set and the popularity they can get through music more than the sound and the actual music itself

@rjdrums26 Niel Peart and Mike Portnoy among others have been known to use uncoated snare heads from time to time. They were fairly popular in the 70's.

Could someone please explain to me why exactly we are calling this 5/4 ? From what I understand this is 5/4 because there are 5 quarter notes in one bar but the beat played is 5 beat means 5 notes so why exactly are we associating the 5 notes or beats to 4 ? What is the significance of 4 here ?

there are 2 'hammers' for the drum at the right leg right
how could the 2nd 'hammer' be triggered? i cant figure it out even i tried so many times
