Congratulations, Dr. Lewis Chodosh, 2020 PBCC Research Grant Winner!

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition is honored to award Dr. Lewis Chodosh, Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, with a $50,000 grant to study the effects of weight loss, exercise and obesity on breast cancer recurrence. Dr. Chodosh received previous PBCC grants to study breast cancer recurrence, but he says this time, his team will study what women can do themselves without taking any drugs to potentially prevent recurrence. The researchers hope to produce preliminary results by studying mice and to apply what they find to future treatment methods for breast cancer survivors. Dr. Chodosh’s 2014 grant from the PBCC led to NCI funding for a breast cancer clinical trial now active for patients at Penn.
