Volkswagens's 2019 Arteon blends the flowing proportions of the now-discontinued VW CC with the sportback design of Audi's A7. The result is a handsome new flagship with a stylish flair of its own.

Why do reviewers keep comparing this vehicle to A7? This car seems more comparable to the A5. Is this what marketing tells them compare it to?

idk what he’s talking about. there is no 12.3” display. the areteon comes with either the 8” composition media or 8” discover media sound system. the biggest screen vw makes is a 9.25” discover pro sound system, but that is only found on the e-golf in the states.

We've had these in Europe for about a year now, and everytime I see one I just think WOW. Looks better than the A5 and A7 imo

They are offering $2500 off MSRP now but it's still overpriced. Needs an R version with >300Hp and needs to be $5K lower in the top level trim Go read forums and most reviews. They all say the same thing.
Should be strong value as a CPO 2-3 years from now though.

This car is way too gorgeous and for the price it's a bargain. I would even dare to say it gives the A7 a run for its money and the A5.

the doubt always regarding VW reliability. and the cost of maintenance in the long term of ownership. i did like the CC . but man very expensive to maintain. plus they made a mistake making the back seat only for two persons.

This is a sexy Volkswagen. I definitely see it matching up with an Audi (since they are the same makers). Everything being a turbo charged 4 cylinder isn't very comforting for the future of gas prices tho... Jumping back from that tangent, I love the digital speedometers. Very modern, and I love it when the possible integration of a GPS in the speedometer's main display becomes a fad. Usually fads are terrible when it comes to cars (like shiny plastics galore/unpainted bumpers). Sadly, as I would love to buy a new car, but I tend to give them 4 years of depreciation and I could care less what's new at the time. That's just me. Great job Volkswagen.

A 4 banger getting only 20/27 MPG and with an 8speed auto - something wrong there. Why not just give me a V6? It should give me the similar MPG and more HP.

I can barely detect Antuan’s lisp now. His reviews are becoming more tolerable, but I still prefer Brian Cooley and his winning personality.
I thought Volkswagen was never going to release the Arteon. It’s good to see it available now.

This has been on sale in Europe for about 2 years so they should have worked out the kinks by now. I have owned a VW in the past and would only lease one as my little Jetta neeeded two repairs (AC and transmission), costing more than the price of the car when purchased. I traded it for a Lexus.

Since this is the 1st review... the up scale engine choice shoulda been the GOLF R's power train. So far, I'm not impressed
