Remembering Blue Sky Studios

If you haven't heard the news this morning, Disney is officially shutting down Blue Sky Studios, the once Fox-dominated animation company best known for producing the "Ice Age" franchise and other beloved animated films such as "Robots", "Rio", and "The Peanuts Movie".

As you may already know, Disney bought the rights to FOX, which means they own the rights to Blue Sky Studios which means they decide to shut down the company. This is really a big loss. It may not be as well-known as Illumination or Pixar, but it's still a very remarkable company that brought a lot of iconic and well-known animated movies.

So this is a video I decided to make showcasing the best of Blue Sky Studios over the years. Watch until the end for a special epilogue.

I'm very disappointed in you, Disney. SMH

I heard the reason why Blue Sky is shutting down is because of the pandemic impacting businesses, with Disney unable to run another animation studio.

Oh and that ending was just hilarious. XD

Blue Sky Studios really fulfilled my childhood with there amazing movies, in fact the first movie I ever watched in the cinema was
Ice Age 2, it really breaks my heart to see Disney make this bonehead decision to shut the company down, Blue Sky Studios had a lot going for it but seeing the company‘s plug get pulled like this is just sad, this pretty much shows us why Disney is horrible at making business decisions, Disney owning the rights to Fox was a bad move from the start...

I'm extremely saddened and disappointed l when I read the news cause although Blue Sky isn't as well known or popular as the animated films released by Disney, DreamWorks, Illumination, Sony Pictures Animation or achieve the Universal acclaim as Pixar, I grew up with their animated films and it was one of the animation Studios that Disney decided to keep following the Fox Acquisition back in March 2019. But due to COVID-19 pandemic and other financial issues happening right now within the company they decided to shut them down.

It's up in the air what's going to happen with the Blue Sky IP library because they had the _Adventures of Buck Wild_ set to come out on Disney+ next year, so more than likely Disney is going to treat Blue Sky as a name only brand like "Hanna-Barbera" from within 20th Century Animation. 😔

Still, I'm extremely saddened of the talented artists and people who worked at Blue Sky loosing their Jobs right now following this announcement.

Disney is shutting down Blue Sky Studios, the animation house responsible for the Ice Age movies, according to Deadline. The reason cited by a studio spokesperson is the “current economic realities, ” likely referring to COVID, which has hit the movie industry in a number of ways.

The Peanuts Movie was a step forward for Blue Sky that wasn't an Ice Age sequel which I love and respect them but it's sad they won't go to great heights with their stories because of their new owner closed them to save money. Probably Disney's lowest thing since The Lion King remake. Peace, Blue Sky. You will never be forgotten.
