COVID-19 cases in Beijing spike to 4-month high

Beijing is battling its highest number of COVID-19 infections in four months. More than 40 new cases have been reported in the Chinese capital, which is hosting thousands of top delegates for the 20th Communist Party Congress. There are fears wide lockdowns will be imposed across the city, but no major restrictions have been announced so far. Across the country, more than 900 new cases have been reported.
