WINTER LIVING AT OUR TINY CABIN | Extreme Cold Weather

After snowfall buried our wood pile down at our off grid, tiny A-frame cabin, I knew that it was time to finally build a shelter for our most important resource. I built the wood shed with lumber that I got for 70% off at Home Depot. It's a little warped, splintered and stained, but does the job just fine! This winter has been exceptionally snowy here in Minnesota. It seems as though we're finally getting the winters that we used to have here.

After building the shed, I get the fire started in the cabin to prepare for my wife to arrive. Afterwards, I test out our brand new Vevor diesel heater. We run a diesel heater overnight right now, in order to make sure Rylie get's some good sleep. She's now in her 3rd trimester after all... The baby will be here before we know it! While I wait for Ry to get here, I watch a little bit of the Viking's wild card playoff game.

Once Rylie arrives, she makes some pasta in the kitchenette, we enjoy the tasty food, and enjoy the beautiful evening down at the cabin. I even head out to the swing for a little late night thrill. We just love being able to visit such a beautiful place. The calming sounds of the wood burning stove puts us in a relaxed state as we get ready to hit the hay.

The next morning, I enjoy some coffee in bed and take Ellie, our golden retriever out for a little stroll through the forest. It's just another day at the Tiny Cabin in the Woods!

Love this! My husband and I have 6.5 acres in N. H. and we only go camping once a year on it, and my oldest son taps maple trees on it, otherwise it sits idle. Watching this makes me possibly build something like this on it. I always said I would never build on it but…….. you never know.
