She go say, she go say, "I be lady, oh"

Speaking as a 26 year old white boy in Kentucky, true music like this sails over the false walls that separate us. Truly, the fierceness of the spirit has been lost, my friends. Thank you for this sanctuary.

I'm a South African boy from the Zulu clan who just found out about the Legendary Fela Kuti and I have to say, he probably has to be the best musician ever. He managed to touch hearts with his sound under horrifying times. He still touches my heart and I'm only 22 years of age. His music is something I will be proud to passing on to my children. May his soul rest in power

How can these Nigerian presidents be so cruel to felakuti who exposed the wrong things they did. Even to the extent of neutralizing his mother. Thunder fire on their souls.

It is so sad that Africans and Nigerians especially do not recognise their Legends and Heros. But we are proud to erect statues of Foreigners and name our important streets after them. While Fela is still not even given the status that befits him. Fela is still the best ambassador to have come out of Nigeria. The Nigerian youths have not forgotten and will never forget you Baba Fela Anikulapo ransomkuti because you still are a great source of inspiration and an Idol. You were there for the oppressed and down troden, that is still going on today in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. One day, we will name our best after you. Continue to rest in peace.

This song cemented fela as an unapologetic African man.

This song has me so emotional because I can imagine during his time with so much British influence how African women would have tried acting white and how Africans in general look down on their culture till today. I’m glad he spoke against it
