I dropped out at fifteen years of age. School was the worst life sucking experience i can remember. Learn variable multiplication on monday, cool it clicks, then repeat the same basic premise for weeks, it was so exhausting. I always felt like i was miles away when sitting in class.

2 things:
1) teach a life skills class (sorta like home ec) where people learn about taxes, loans, credit scores, fixing tires, oil changes, the legal system, and all the other stuff that most people nowadays don't figure out until their 40's, if ever. (AKA all the stuff your dad should have taught you, but didn't because he either wasn't around or was just faking it until he made it like you are)
2) more interdisciplinary work. The history of science. The math of music. The biology of PE and Health. Etc. Tie topics people don't normally like to topics they actually do like. You'll see a lot more engagement.

Cut classroom sizes to 20:1 and watch the magic. It’s hard to do anything fun with 38 teenagers crammed into a space. Teachers want to have fun, but the circumstances and constraints make it challenging to pull off. Student behavior can also get in the way.

Engagement and not having thw class completely focused on the topic, being able to stray a bit. But also be able to come back when needed

Teach the basics reading, writing, and math plus life skills. Remove the porn.

I dropped out of HS and got a ged because it wasn't challenging. Definitely not engaging. Not interactive. I work with masters degree people in corporate with a few certs and experience. I'd reject it wholeheartedly for what it has become. I will put my daughter in private school, a single day in public education for her I would consider more a tragedy than the 3 times I was homeless and my mother bestowing upon me the inability to trust others through the abuse of the men she invited into our lives.

make it where we don’t use a fucking app to go the bathroom?? And make food better and less punishments for ID’s especially bc not everyone can afford one of they accidentally lose it
