Update: If you are running the flex boss WITH the grid boss, no need for CT's!! I totally messed that up. Just leave them disconnected and you're good.

A lot of power companies require a Licensed Electrician for anything that has t do with interconnection, so by brining in an electrician for the Gridboss, you can then do all the work downstream (flexboss or whatever) and stay compliant with regs. This is a huge cost savings.

Thanks. It looks like this may be an ideal solution for the hybrid installation by the home owner. Get a contractor to do the home circuit breaker to grid box installation and any other permitting stuff and let the home owner do some of the basics. This has been something that has been tripping us up. Permits are the big thing in California but this may be a good possibility. EG4 can also be purchased by the home owner vs say a Point Guard inverter or Tesla Powerwall 3 that can't or must go through installation company.

love the video and all the work you do. Forums are great too. I'm rocking a 6000XP+28kwh battery system from EG4 I built last year. Even with a non optimal placement solar array I've generated 4.17MWh of juice in 9 months. about 450kWh a month falling from the sky to use :)

It seems to me you made a video where you used a panel box much as the way grid boss works… I thought using the second panel to connect to 6000 GX’s was pretty ingenious, but this seems to take it to the next level. I’m still grasping the concept of how this all works as a newbie. Will, you talk so fast! You talk about transfer switches, gateways, hybrid inverters, etc., and those of us who are new have to deal with our brains, exploding because we’re trying to keep up.

I recently made the swap from my 18kpv to the flexboss just to play with it as my 18k has had 0 issues in 8 megawatts and 8 months. I'm off grid and most of my clients are also so I imagine this flexboss will be my main go to inverter for installs going forward. Thanks for sharing this video
