This was my second Grateful Dead show. I could not believe my joy. All these years later it still sends me and pretty much anyone who hears it soaring. Thank you Jerry! Thank you Grateful Dead.

They were brilliant as a group and each was brilliant in his own way.... the greatest meeting of people and music in history... never happened before and might never happen again. I am grateful it all happened in my lifetime! Thanks for posting this version.... I love juxtaposing this version with the one at Cottrell Gym less then a week later which is SO pumping/cocaine fast!  This ditty is truly one of the greatest in their library when we can get such a sublime and languid version six days before one of the most driving and pointed versions in the song's 40 year history.

First time hearing Eyes live was March 1973 Nassau Coliseum, NY it was a week after Pigpen

I was at this show, it was awesome and the Eyes one of my top favorites, keep coming back to it 35 years on. After seeing this show, with in 3 weeks I had moved to Haight Ashbury so I could see the Dead at Winterland. magic times!

I keep coming back to this version of Eyes. It really is a beauty.
My favorite Dead period is '71-74, but there's something about Jerry's playing in and around '77-78 that is really technically advanced. Not sure what his personal scene was like then, but he really did hit a beautiful peak in his musical knowledge.
