Thanks for an informative video. I use Godox flashes and a Godox trigger, which I got before Olympus released its radio transmitter/receivers. Before the Godox I had used the Olympus optical trigger(s), with mixed results.

The big advantage for me of the Godox system is the radio trigger AND the power of the flashes. While power is less important because high ISO is now usable, a Godox AD 200 will put out 3X the power of the most powerful Olympus (or Canon or Nikon) flash. I'll usually put two of these guys in a soft box. I've even ganged two AD 200 together, each with a fresnel lens, for adding some front light to birds using HSS.

Note most Oly flashes support optical triggers, so you can still use those if you need to. So it's not as if the Oly flashes are now useless, unless the optical trigger process is problematic ... .

That said, I can see the advantage of using the Oly radio trigger with an Oly flash if that is what you need. I prefer to stick with Oly products when possible because you know everything will work together. They are also rock solid and quite well weather sealed.

Hello Paul, thank you for your in depth video! I have a FL-600R that I struggle to use off camera with the optical RC mode. Will this FR-WR fire my 600R?
