May I propose something? You now have the "ad" tone you had ~ a year ago, but now all along your videos. I think it sounds fake and flashy and you really don't need to do this. Would you make a poll to see if I'm just an oldschool that liked the "old, non-hypee" John? If that's how youtube works now, I guess it's the latter..

Also, polarization filters could be applied over your main light and your glasses (resp. horizontal and vertical or vice-versa) to remove the reflections.
