I used to be main awper in cs source, once I downloaded cs2 I released how nerfed it was, the blurriness and 5 bullets was a big challenge. However I think that 5 bullets its ok now

while transitioning to cs2 they increased head hitbox percentage by 20 to match all agents instead of doing the hard work
they need to have same head hitbox as in cs:go because apparently anyone can headshot now which lowers skill ceiling.

The problem it's that when they nerfed the AWP they nerfed it without actually knowing what made it broken.

The AWP was very broken from the transition from CSS to CSGO because the game became slower, and weapons became more accurate lowering the skill ceiling of every weapon.

The biggest noticeable culprit was the AWP that became an instant shut down for any chokepoint

Making the AWP slower and shorter magazine did not a lot because now it's even easier to use it since you can zero your accuracy just by crouching

The most broken AWP plays were always because of how more consistent weapon spread became to the point where running and shooting with rifles are an actual strategy.

It's an actual joke considering the scout seems to be statistically less consistent while standing still than the AWP

You might say it's fair for a 1700 weapon but the problem is that for 1700 it's still inaccurate compared to let's say the MP9 that is dominant already in eco rounds

Making it almost not viable for use in comp

The proper way to nerf the AWP was always about it's very forgiving spread that even made jumping with it an actual strategy.

I totally agree with the 2015 movement speed nerf and the 5-bullets nerf. But the innacuracy while taking damage REGARDLESS OF KEVLAR added in CS2 is a shame. In a battle between AWP and other guns, the AWPer has just one chance or he dies. Now, 1 bullet of any weapon is enough to make a expensive and slow weapon (in movement and mainly in fire rate) useless or at least random. Much more worth using P90 or Bizon and spamming while running than use AWP so you need positioning and game notion to decide where to aim. And to become worse, they added this to Scout and autosnipers too. Yes, to the SCOUT! Like it wasn't bad enough.

the awp got hella nerfed in cs2, its not as viable as it once was in csgo... in csgo i used to do a ton of flicks and strafe peaks, In cs2 its absolutely impossible

Good video friend. But they better fix the AWP. Imagine the mind that some people close to the game or Valve itself have that the AWP working poorly, they think it works well and they should nerf it. Here in Argentina we would tell you that they live on a birthday.
