a reason parent birds WILL leave its nest is if they identify a predator is nearby or if the area already seems unsafe, i.e humans constantly tampering with the nest, cats roaming the area, etc.

We have a robins nest right outside of our door. It was 95 here and the parents weren't anywhere to be seen all day. I dug up some worms and used a clean (just hot water) pair of new pliers and fed them. Mom and dad are back now and they come within a foot or two of us. Not sure if this is how it normally works but man it was neat.

We have more than eight duck eggs outside our neighbors house and this helps because we thought we could at least pick them up

i touched a baby bird in my backyard and it has 3 other bird siblings and i only touched one and i’m scared because the mother hasn’t been back in a while

Could anyone help me out please, in my balcony pigeon lay 3 eggs since last 10 days it keeps coming to the nest yesterday i put some crushed corn 🌽 near to the nest without touching their nest, unfortunately from the next day she didn’t come back to nest. I feel very sad😞.
