"Humans aren't sinful by nature." Umm, no. If we are "good" why are kids so awful to each other? Why do we have to TEACH them HOW to be kind and generous. In my opinion, kids are the most honest examples of what human nature is truly like and it is NOT good!

Re the council of Nicea: Saint Nickolas, aka santa claus, was part of the council, and he took the matter if heresy so seriously that he punched out a heretic. This was a man who, in his day, was known for giving and kindliness so much he inspired the santa claus story.

Heresy is a big deal, and we need to take it seriously.

Your comment on Biblical illiteracy is so true, and I believe it's the biggest detriment to Christianity during this incredibly crazy social/political climate. I mean, I've only recently returned to my faith 4 months ago. I'm taking it very seriously and trying to genuinely educate myself now on church history and actually reading scripture.

I was raised Christian; however, I had blind faith when I was young. It was all I knew, so I just believed it. But once I got older and began questioning things, I ended up developing Agnostic views and left Christianity. I always held a soft spot for Christians, though, and wasn't someone who walked away with anger towards the religion, but grew to think, they're just good people with good morals, and there's no way to know if God is real or not.

The problem is, I never really put in the work to truly inform myself in Christianity, and had a much more surface level understanding of the faith than I once thought, which is why it was pretty easy to leave. While I can't say I recognized my life going downhill immediately, it was definitely the beginning of many years of suffering. I lived a very secular lifestyle, and believed it was up to me to grow in my knowledge to eventually find happiness. Ultimately that just led to lots of bad choices and over a decade of anxiety and depression.

Then last year I lost both of my parents to different illnesses, and I went into an incredibly dark place for almost a year, and foolishly turned to using psychedelics on a regular basis to try and cure my pain. I used to believe in a lot of the secular lies of the world. Eventually in early 2023, I stopped using psychedelics realizing I only had these "profound revelations" while I was on the substance, and once I was sober, I was back to square one with nothing positive to take from the experience, and finally accepted that these were basically just delusions I had while high.

I started thinking more about how strong my Mother always was during her life, as she had many incredibly difficult challenges in her life, and yet remained the strongest person I've ever known, and I know she always attributed it to her Catholic faith. I was already beginning to feel drawn back to the church prior to giving up the psychedelics, but just kept saying to myself, I'm not ready just yet, but probably will eventually.

In retrospect, I realize I was simply just addicted to sin, and I wasn't ready to stop certain sins that absolutely didn't align with church teachings. Eventually I said, enough is enough, and decided to finally reopen my heart to God, and I returned to the church, and now the predominant media I consume on YouTube is Christian/Catholic based. While I do still struggle with anxiety, I have been off of my antidepressants for 4 months now, and haven't felt one bout of depression since genuinely turning my life over to Christ.

I'm a true believer now, and I'm so thankful for all these YouTube channels promoting the faith in a very intelligent way. We're definitely in a time where we need more Christian apologetics than ever because we're in a spiritual battle right now. While there are many who return to their faith, like myself, and new converts of the faith, there are a great number of people leaving the faith to never return, which is incredibly sad, so we need to reduce the number of people leaving.

I think part of the problem is that we are too emotional. Too many people let their emotions control them instead of controlling their emotions. The Bible makes people look at themselves and their mistakes, sins, transgressions, etc. and it makes them uncomfortable. I have seen that people HATE the word sin. But why? Is it because they don't understand what it means or because they don't want to see themselves at sinners. Maybe that comes back to Bible illiteracy though. If we were taught at a young age that we are all sinners maybe people would behave differently. Idk. People want to be the hero and don't want to be told they are doing something wrong and the Bible tells us that we are doing something wrong. People want to live by their own rules instead of God's. Which is why people cherry pick what they want to believe.

I was wondering about this, so I quickly scanned an article by Gallup about identifying actual Evengelicals. They admit it's difficult to figure out who is evangelical without first confirming they hold evangelical beliefs.

So, I think that, although shocking and not totally untrue, these aren't all evangelicals.

I'm glad I found your channel. I've been struggling with my faith for years. I was raised Roman Catholic, but changed to Methodist when I got married. But now I am in fear of some of the direction the Methodist church is heading. So I have found a Roman Catholic church and am trying to salvage my faith

As Voddie Bauchman states; We give you kids to CEASAR and wonder why our kids become ROMAN. We need our Churches to become similar to other faith's with having our children learning from Pastor's and the Church instead of the ANTI-Christian world.

#5: “we are basically good but society turns us bad”. I’ve heard this so often I can’t count the times. Just a moment of thought reveals the ignorance of the statement and the indoctrination that has taken place in our culture. Thanks so much for this sad but true condition. God Bless you and your ministry.

So grateful for your channel. Ex Mormon here and Gods word is correcting everything I was taught in the LDS church. Only by Gods Grace and Mercy I see my sin and My King Jesus came and died for me. So so precious❤️

How can anyone in good conscience look at the world at large and say people are inherently good???

Hello Nate! New subscriber here. I am so glad I found your channel. I've enjoyed your reaction videos and commentary on different matters. I especially enjoyed your videos on Drs. Bahnsen and Sproul. I learned so much from both Eli's and your comments on the debate.
This is very concerning about the evangelical Church in America. These top 5 heresies, sadly, don't surprise me. Your comment about the seed of the state of believers and their biblical understanding being fomented by the age of reason is spot on. We are living in a post-truth era as a consequence of humanism and its thought products. Not surprising at all.
The American pulpit in some significant way has been captured by the humanist rationale and has mangled the Bible, and as a consequence we see believers living as if there is no God. This being so, I can't help but think and pray for the Lord to raise up true evangelists, preachers and teachers because America has become a mission field at large and in general, and that includes the seats and pulpits in so many of America's churches. Sad, very sad on the one hand, but an enormous evangelistic and discipleship opportunity on the other.
I am comforted that the Lord is able to preserve His own and able to persuade others to repent and believe by the power of His Word.

I am new to your channel and it is one of my favorites now. I am learning alot from how you explain the Bible in our modern culture and it is so useful for me in my ministry among the youth who are heavily exposed to many lies. I praise God for what you do and I am praying that you continue to be bold for the truth and be salt and light in this world. God bless you brother 🙏

This was an enlightening and concerning video. My hope is in the Lord. My country is no longer under the Lord though.🥺

Hey Nate, love what your doing. I joined the eastern orthodox church and have never looked back. I love the liturgy and the teachings of the early church fathers. The church that was, is and will be there until Christ's second coming.

If humans are "basically good, " why do we need locks & keys, guns, laws, governments, police and sheriffs, courts, etc.?
