6. George Harrison
All Things Must Pass (1970)
Living in the Material World (1973)
S/T (1979)
Song: Let It Down

I decided to pick only his solo material since George would only get a couple of songs on a Beatles record. That being said, his material is among the best in the Beatles' catalog. There is a distinct comforting element to his vocals that pairs so well with his songwriting and slide guitar playing,

1. Stevie Ray Vaughan
2. Stevie Wonder
3. Peter Gabriel
4. Klaus Meine
5. Freddie Mercury
6. George Harrison

My choice today is the frontman for a superstar band. In the 70s when the original line up of his main band were together, they were arguably the most energetic and explosive live act on the planet. ROGER DALTREY from The Who. The Daltrey roar as I call it was/is one of the definitive vocal styles of the whole arena rock scene and the man's chest beating machismo set the standard for so many frontman and singers who followed in his footsteps. But he could do sensitive and subtle too, such was his ability.
Albums
Who's Next
Quadraphenia
Who Are You.
Favourite vocal
Won't Get Fooled Again. A definitive arena hard rock vocal on a definitive arena hard rock song
27 Derek St Holmes
28 Klaus Meine
29 Ronnie Van Zant
30 Pat Benatar
31 Jimmy Dewar.
Love Pete's choice today, and will feature higher on my list later in the month.

No particular order. Just picking a different name for each day. I've posted a couple favorite vocal tracks of mine as well:

Although he got a bit "whiney" sounding in the 80's, Paul Stanley was a powerful and unique voice in his prime. Many non-Kiss fans might not realize he did Phantom of the Opera .

27. Paul Rodgers - Free / Bad Company (Bad Company ; Fire and Water)
28. Ronnie James Dio - Dio (Don't Talk to Strangers ; Holy Diver)
29. Pat Benatar (Hell is for Children ; Promises in the Dark)
30. Klaus Meine - Scorpions (We'll Burn the Sky ; Still Loving You)
31. Ian Anderson - Jethro Tull (Orion ; Heavy Horses)

My pick for today: James Labrie of Dream theater. Before his unfortunate vocal injury, James was one of the best metal vocalists! He perfectly suits the melodic nature of the band’s music, but can turn on the grit when it calls for it. My favourite performance of his has to be Take the time, off Images and words. I think this song shows all the facets of what he could do back in the day. It’s a real shame his voice was never really the same after.
