The tplink stuff is actually really good. It's been the only smart home product I've bought that's worked consistently.

I have 2 Geeni smart bulbs I picked up from Harber Freight for $10 each and haven't had any problems with them. They do not need a hub and they are easily controlled by Google and Alexa

I have tried out three different brands of smart lights (Hue, LIFX & Lightify) and know of the IKEA lights and Xiaomi lights. And I have come to realize that all smart lights are good no matter the brand as long as that brand is Hue.

my bulb was only 10 bucks (gbp) and its lit. never had any connection issues its great

Do those switches need a neutral wire in the box? If so they might not be compatible with the wiring in older homes.

Yeelight's bulbs are great as well, O have those. Really bright, only $20, no hub and great app & control. Works w google home, alexa as well! :) btw dropped a sub, great vid!:)

Definitely give singled smart lights a try they are cheap and work great!

Try the Gosund smart light bulbs. They are only $25 for 2 multicolor bulbs. They dont need a hub and work perfectly with my google home with no connection issues since I got them 6 months ago.
