i always had a dream of living in Scotland somewhere (i live in England currently), my dream was never to be rich or famous, i never dreamed of having a huge house with 15 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms, or to be surrounded by women, in my dream i have a house on beautiful green grass, i wake up every morning and look out at the ocean and see beautiful blue water for miles, the smell of pure clean air, the sound of water crashing against rocks, i hope one day my dream comes true.

I am so blessed to live in Scotland. I went to school in Scotland but it took me 30 years to move here permanently. Tomorrow I will be heading up into the Angus Glen's on my horse. It's just him and I with nature all around us. From red squirrels running up the trees to the red deer on the hill's.

My ancestors left (or were forced) to leave the highlands. They came to Canada in search of a better life.

Ionndrainn. A Gaelic word used to describe a phenomenon that took place after the first round of forced immigrations of the Highlands of Scotland from 1750-1860. To those who watched the ships leave their sight, the feelings were described as “great sadness and a feeling that something was missing”.

I believe in generational pain and trauma. I longed to find a place and call it my home my entire life.

2 years ago I made it to the Highlands and I finally felt at home.

OMG, Tim Janis!!! I have been a fan for many and I have a few of your albums. I remember seeing you many years ago in the Portland, Maine Mall! I was smitten at the first note! I was shopping with my mother and my brother, and they couldn't get me to leave the beautiful music, so they went all around the mall shopping, while I sat there and just listed and calmed my soul.
