Dodge needs to do what Ford was talking about and forcing dealers to stop marking up the prices at the threat of shutting down their dealership.

Dealerships are crooks and people should not complain about Dodge making a better car. Technology advances and if people complained about everything new we would still be driving horses.

What Dodge did with the Challenger comeback was brilliant, awesome cars, awesome options, faster and more comfortable than my hotrods of the late 60's and early 70's and tunes too boot. It's too bad that the day is here in bold print that the consumer is so plentiful that a returning customer is not even thought of anymore. The customer has become non important and that kind of takes the fun out of it as fast if not faster than the governments attack ( assault) on the people. Imagine the new world the govt is trying to misprision us into there will be no dragstrips, no electricity to operate the electric car if you happen to be one of the very few allowed to own one. Commuter trains and massive walking.

We had a 71-340 Demon, 71 Dart Swinger 340, 440 sixpack 70 challenger, 426 68 charger, 71 426 challenger, Saleen 570x challenger and others. When my dealer went to order me a 170 Demon for MSRP they were told to have me call them instead. For what they wanted, I and the dealer told them to stick it. I went c8 instead and E-Ray on order. Ford/Mopar Dealership:(

The dealers are not the problem, the suckers willing to pay that much are the problem.

Good analysis of the Demon debacle. What color did you order and how much over MSRP did you agree to pay to secure the allocation?

I own a 2018 Demon and the dealer never offered the Demon 170 to me (first right of refusal), and I had called and told them that I was interested and to call me back. Dodge should have offered this vehicle to 2018 Dodge Demon owners first. This vehicle should have been sold directly from Dodge to stop the greedy dealerships from price gouging. I believe Ford sold the GT500 directly from the manufacturer to avoid price gouging.

The bullshit dealers making customers pay 200k over sticker price bites. As a Red-eye owner, I tried to get a 170 bought and they wouldn't even talk to me on getting on the list unless I wrote a 175k check in advance.

For that kind of money you could buy a new Challenger with a V6 then send it to upfitter for the best possible Hellephant imaginable. You could go first class all the way, moneys no object and build a machine way better than Demon170.

I just found out about the ordering nonsense, can I still order one through a dealer? Is there any chance of MSRP?

It's a cool car, but for the what it's gonna take to actually buy one I'd rather have an ACR Viper.

SIMPLE : NICE PRESENTATION. I PAID 100K OVER LIST...$ 227, 655.88...GOT RIPPED OFF, BUT GOT THE CAR, ( NO DISCOUNT FOR BEING 2018 DEMON OWNER ). ALL DEALERS ARE GREEDY.

So, let all of the original Demon owners just go down to their local Direct-Connection Mopar outlet, pony up $28, 000.00, purchase a Hellephant crate motor, slap a 3.1 roots type supercharger on it and sell the first Demon powerplant to offset the cost of the new one

Sad how they let this turn out. Then for the dealerships to screw their customers bad look

Other than the ridiculous mark ups. It’s a really sweet ride.

they will be extremely rare in 20 years many are getting destroyed by incompetent people

Even if the demon 170 was called something else it would still make the 2018 demon not that special anymore because this newer version is quicker with better innerparts...it's also not fair that normal demon owners got a first chance of purchasing....they should have gave an opportunity to everyone else to have something rare....not including those willing to buy extremely over sticker

Beautiful Challenger. Showing that Dodge is King of Muscle. Dodge needs to stay with gasoline. They can build some battery car. Sell the electric crap to battery boys
So that car is faster than the Dodge Pro Stock? I haven't heard any of what your saying.
You have to get those cars at a Direct Connection Dodge Dealer?

They had a coupla train cars of fenders they wanna sell off.
People have been changing the pulley and re-mapping the thing and getting 1000 Hp .It may be cheaper to buy the car at the dealer though and getting a warrantee on top of it. I think if you had the mods done after market they could give you some grief. It is one beefy engine.
