The Maid was awesome. And that cover is soooo much better than the red one in the US. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was really, really good!

Oooooh you've sold me on The Maid! I've seen it everywhere and it's been a buzz topic at work too, we're debating reading it for a "staff bookclub". I think I would just be able to get the red cover but the UK one is so pretty!

I have started Assassin's Apprentice and got into it really quickly. I am not normally a fan of Fantasy but Robin Hobb is the most believable and sensible of Writers in this Genre and i am really loving it. I have the Farseer Trilogy so far, I bought them altogether so that i could keep going rather than having to stop and dash out and buy the 3rd book.

I totally get where you're coming from with feeling protective over King Arthur! I love telling others that he was first ever mentioned in the Mabinogion! I studied and translated Culhwch ac Olwen for A Level and ever since I will tell anyone and everyone that he's a Welsh figure 🤣

That’s a solid haul! I actually got my first Agatha Christie book yesterday, I was kindly gifted And Then There Were None yesterday as a belated birthday present (it was on Thursday) so I’m looking forward to getting to it 😁 🌊 🐙

I loved The Maid.

Also, I liked Under the Whispering Door more than The House in the Cerulean Sea. I believe this is an unpopular opinion because a lot of people haven't liked it and even dnf'd it. It made me cry and that rarely happens anymore.

I somehow had a book haul of about 25 books this month and I'm not sure how... It must be January blues! So many exciting books here! Have you read Peril at End House by Agatha Christie? It was the first AC my nanna read and then she made me read it as my first too, so it's kinda close to my heart!

I grabbed some bargains in there the other week getting Ex Hex and Payback is a Witch. The fourth book, Winterskeep does look super pretty.
