Alcohol is a gift from God -- in its proper place, at the proper time. If there are no laws prohibiting it, then you're free to use your judgement wisely. But if there are laws prohibiting it for people until they're a certain age, then you should respect the law of the land. And violation of it is sinful because it breaks the 4th Commandment.

Great video pastor! In the left-hand kingdom of things, consuming alcohol no matter what age with your parents or family in private locations is perfectly legal, I believe it's Texas where it could be any location. And talking about alcohol, our family very much enjoys the Higher Things beer steins.

Would underage drinking be considered mortal sin when without parents?(and I know that we should avoid all sin)

Wow, this is a tough one for me, pastor. I like to enjoy beer with my whole family, including kids aged 3, 5, 12, and 14--all in moderation and decent order, of course! We previously lived in Texas, where both home consumption and public consumption for minors are allowed in the presence of and with parental consent. We now live in Michigan; it had not occurred to me yet to look up the laws, but your video prompted some research: I sadly learned that the only legal alcohol consumption for minors is for church uses, sting operations, or culinary school.

In some countries the age limit is 18, 16 or even lower. It's not sinning there?

Well this kinda creates issues because I'm 16 and I'm taking communion, which is Alcoholic. Does that mean that Gods law trumps the law that I cant drink yet?
