Strange Signal (Asterion Abyss) | Test of Darkness | Beyond Light

A short walkthrough covering a randomly appearing Vex patrol event in the Asterion Abyss on Europa.

//The Vex are responding to a strange signal...

After destroying a group of Vex including a Challenging Wyvern called "Valkyrie Venator" on the perimeter of the area, this Wyvern gives a buff called "Strange Signal". You can inspect this buff on your "Character" menu.

Strange Signal: The Vex were responding to a strange signal coming from the Nexus...

Once entering the Nexus area, head to your right until you come across a "Friendly Harpy" and a Crux of Darkness ("Initiate the Test of Darkness"). Vex platforms and Crux of Darkness appear.

// The Darkness beckons...

Defeat the multiple waves of Vex and the "Monitor Hydra" while traversing the disappearing Vex platforms, and then collect your loot. In order to activate a new platform for the Darkness Test, you'll need to shoot the Vex Oracles (the floating, white-glowing diamonds).

NOTE: Each Crux of Darkness will recharge your Darkness-Based Subclass Abilities.

NOTE: We entered the Nexus area with a Darkness Subclass equipped when receiving both Tests. It seems that the Tests (Light or Dark) you get are completely random.

Hmm interesting, if you have a Light subclass there will be a Tree of Light and If you have a Darkness subclass there will be a Crux there.
