Q&A Timestamps
00:36:41 My husband often works outside in extreme temperatures, and his skin is dry, itchy, and flaky, with cracking and scabbing in winter. Is there an over-the-counter moisturizer that works, and do cracks or scabs need antibiotic cream?

00:38:59 The sun has a positive effect on my husband's lesions, reducing the redness and appearance, however I worry about his sun exposure. Does sunscreen reduce the benefit of the sun, and should the sunscreen have zinc?

00:41:16 Is there a topical medication stronger than clobetasol 0.5 but not as potent as nitrogen mustard?

00:43:19 My dermatologist recommends Cerave products for skincare. They contain ceramides, which I know are protective, but they contain parabens, which I try to avoid. Is there an alternative that contains ceramides, but is paraben free?

00:46:34 Should patients be using a tongue depressor or something else besides a hand to scoop cream out of the jar?

00:47:34 Do you have any recommendations for caring for dry or flaky skin, specifically on the face?

00:48:24 Does a wet wrap work on the face?

00:48:39 Which do you apply first, the steroid cream or the moisturizer?

00:49:28 My multiple plaques do not itch. Why is this, when so many others have severe itch?

00:50:16 I periodically soak my feet in warm water for about 20 minutes. Is this useful to reduce dryness, and is there something that I could add to the water that would help?

00:51:15 For the antibacterial soak, is there another option besides soaking the skin, when someone only has 1 localized, stubborn area? Would spraying it on work?

00:52:16 Is Dove bar soap a good soap to use? If not, do you have any recommendations?

00:52:58 Do you recommend rosehip oil?

00:53:43 If you don't have a bathtub, how can you do a bleach bath?

00:54:02 Are there any other ingredients besides fragrance or perfume that we should watch out for? Any with toxicity or immuno-toxicity or endocrine disruption?

00:55:14 If I am using an ointment based steroid, do I also need to moisturize?

00:56:03 Should you skip a day or two when applying topical medications (like clobetasol) to increase their efficacy?

00:56:49 What do you think of combining Vanicream with almond oil designed for skin (it can make the Vanicream easier to apply)?

00:57:21 What brand of moisturizer is best? Is Lubriderm acceptable?
