Anyone that says we live in an idiocracy now is stupid and doesn't understand this movie. When the tests revealed this guy was the smartest man alive they immediately put him in charge. That makes the world in this movie WISER than the one we live in.

This strikes me as a movie that was probably completely thrashed by critics but is actually really funny.

The best part of this scene is the delay before he answers the bucket question. You can just imagine him thinking "Wait...what? Seriously?"

God I love the attention to detail that's present in many scenes in this movie. The blue rectangle being worn down at the edges from all the attempts to make it fit into the round hole just makes the whole thing so much more fun.

I knew he was smart when he answered the "trick question" about how many buckets. I came up with several answers including one that had the first bucket leaving Chicago at 3 P.M. traveling east at 100 mph and the second bucket leaving Denver going West at 4:00 at 4 P.M.

One of the things I like about that question, is that you can tell that it was originally a much harder question that was modified over time as people got dumber.
