Pocosin Restoration: Ancient Ecosystem, Future Conservation Landscape

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working with multiple partners to restore the pocosin wetlands of the Albemarle-Pamlico Sound in southern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The ecosystem is important for wildlife, water quality in the Sound, and biological carbon sequestration.
