What if Yugoslavia Annexed Bulgaria in 1918?

The country of Yugoslavia had a solid reason to annex all of Bulgaria in 1918, as Yugoslavia literally means South Slavic, which included Bulgaria as well.

The reason why this never happened is because the Bulgarians would oppose it greatly. Bulgaria and Serbia, the main initiator of Yugoslavia, had fought a war in 1885, 1913, and 1915, so Yugoslavia including Bulgaria when they had so many recent wars against each other would have been a recipe for disaster, hence why it never happened.

Yet, according to the narrative of the video, what if it did happen anyways? Would this make Yugoslavia stronger, able to withstand the German pressure in the Second World War, or would they still collapse? Let me show you what I came up with.

In fact, Tito offered them to join as the 7th republic member later on, and then Bulgaria did not outright refuse. Instead they gave a counter proposal.
Bulgarian idea was to make a union state of Yugoslavia and Bulgaria, where Bulgaria would have far greater autonomy than other republics. So they wouldn't be really "subjugate" to Belgrade, but on equal terms instead. We would have common foreign policies, open borders, possibly share an army and currency...
But Tito did not accept that. Probably because it could make other republics want the same deal. But that is just my take on it. I do not really know why he refused it.

I personally think it was a great idea, even if only a loose union. Yugoslavia would be considerably stronger with Bulgaria, and who knows, things could have even turned out differently in the end.
Maybe it would even still exist today. Because you know, the "butterfly" effect if no other reason.

Tito was borned to a Croat father and a Slovenian mother, which was the reason why he even wanted to create a unity for the southern Slavs. But without the southern Slavs, Tito wouldn’t even come to power. Plus it’s a misconception Tito is Serbian, which is saw in your video😅
